Freewheelin' Concerts is a not-for-profit Corporation run by a volunteer group bringing the best in live acoustic music to our city. We have lined up some great musicians for this, our fifth season.
Our 2011/2012 series concluded with a most entertaining concert by Ian Thomas at the Spectator Auditorium. All four shows, Harrison Kennedy, Ian Tamblyn, Lynn Miles and Ian Thomas, sold out well in advance and we were very pleased that we were able to raise over $3000 for the Carnegie Gallery and close to that amount for the Hamilton Spectator Summer Camp Fund.
A series like this cannot operate without lots of help. We would like to extend our gratitude to our sponsors and we encourage you to use their services.
A big thank you goes out to Barb Patterson from the Carnegie Gallery and Jane Allison from the Spectator for co-ordinating venues and ticket sales, John and Sue Allum for managing merchandise sales, Ken MacDonald and Stewart Patch for helping with set up, and a very big thank you to all our faithful subscribers for their ongoing support for live music.
We will announce our line up for next year early this summer. It has been our pleasure bringing great performers to our town and we intend to keep on doing it for a long time.
